Real lyfe get 2.0 (semi-rant)

Is it just me or do people spend WAY too much bloody time on their computers? With all the gizmos, gyros and contraptions to stay in the “loop” more and more people lose touch with reality and IRL “real life” I remember before I got a computer how much I used to read, I’d devour a book a day. It’s taken me bloody years to trudge through HPHBP (Harry Potter Half Blood Prince) I’m not even to the middle. Between the instant messaging, the one online gallery I post my art to and my own personal website there isn’t enough time in the day to do everything. I spend my “life” on the computer reading emails, surfing the web working on commissions day in and day out. It gets to the point I sit and eat at my desk. I see computing as a drug and addiction that NO ONE can quit. I can’t go a day without logging on, seeing who’s online or checking how many pageviews I have even when I’m bed ridden with a horrible virus. Now with the new phones coming out like the iPhone what little you had of your reallyfe you’re still connected to the internet. Granted seems pretty nifty and since I’m a slave to the technology I’ll probably shell out for it just to be on the net while I walk (the little I do) around. I mean the GPS and just the fact it uses wi-fi is damn cool. Look up the nearest 5 star sushi restaurant or while in conversation want to prove how you’re right and so n so is wrong by googling in wikipedia thus winning said $50 drunken bet. As another drone with a plug stuck in my spinal cord like the Matrix it has me, I’m connected and I can’t seem to shut down or disconnect. “we’re sorry but the command you wish to execute is not available” I guess the only thing one can and should do is shut up and keep living your virtual life. At home, at school, at work, in the little coffee shop around the corner from your apartment at 45th and Main. That being said here’s a little clip I found humorous:
